About Wymer's DC
Wymer’s DC is an independent project created using the John P. Wymer Collection from the Historical Society of Washington, D.C. The Wymer Collection consists of about 4,000 street photography images of Washington, D.C., taken between 1948 – 1952.
This project was created as a new way to visualize this invaluable photography collection which shows a glimpse into mid-twentieth century life in the District of Columbia. Combining the standard map view with street view provides an immersive experience for the users both familiar and unfamiliar with the city.
